Trei opens 15th Vendo Park in Poland

Trei Real Estate GmbH (Trei), a developer with over 10 years' experience on the Polish commercial real estate market, is rapidly developing a network of convenience retail parks. The company, part of the German Tengelmann Group, has now opened its 15th Polish retail park, operating under the Vendo Park brand, in Kobyłka. The total cost of investment was approximately EUR 5.6 million. Kobyłka has a population of around 22,000 and is located about 25 kilometres from the center of Warsaw.

Vendo Park in Kobyłka is next to a Lidl supermarket, which will help to maintain Vendo Park's footfall. The property is 100% commercialized by local and international retail chains. The group of tenants includes a Rossmann drugstore, Neonet (consumer electronics), Gzella (butcher’s) as well as Pepco and Tedi stores which offer home decoration, textiles, stationery, clothing and toys. The retail park, whose construction began in August of this year, occupies an 8,500 sqm plot and has a total of 3,250 sqm of modern shopping space and 65 parking spaces. Trei plans to keep the asset in its portfolio for the foreseeable future.

“We see huge potential in Kobyłka, which is only 25 km from the capital city. Current trends in the real estate market clearly show that more and more people are moving to smaller towns near Warsaw. This movement is being fuelled by the significantly lower costs of buying a house or flat and a relatively short commute to the city center. The idea of Vendo Parks is to provide maximum convenience in everyday shopping. Because we also build Vendo Parks in smaller towns, the residents have a wide shopping range without having to take time-consuming trips to large cities”, comments Jacek Wesołowski, Managing Director of Trei Real Estate Poland.

Vendo Park in Kobyłka is the fifteenth retail park developed by Trei in Poland and the fifth in the Masovian Voivodeship. Previously the investor had opened Vendo Parks in Milanówek and Mińsk Mazowiecki. Vendo Park Pułtusk, opened their doors in August, with Vendo Park Ostrołęka joining them in September.

“2019 has been a very good year for the Vendo brand with five Vendo Parks opening in Poland. We have another nineteen further projects in the planned, project or construction stages. We have already started construction works in Płock, Jawor, Częstochowa and Solec Kujawski, which we will plan to open with another three Vendo Parks next year”, adds Jacek Wesołowski.

At the moment Trei owns 24 Vendo Parks in Europe, including fifteen located in Poland.  Trei not only develops its projects but manages them as well.
