Open Media is purchasing Avans chain of stores

On 5 July, the Open Media company signed the purchase contract of the Avans chain, conditioned upon the decision of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The priority for the new owner is to develop the chain and expand all over the country.

Avans is a Polish chain of over 100 electronics markets and an online store. It deals with selling and servicing of household appliances, audio and video devices, phones and computer equipment. Shops of the Avans chain are located in the western part of the country, with sales point present both in medium-sized and large cities.

Purchasing the Avans chain by Open Media is a step towards the development of the potential of the acquired company. The new owner is planning to create a business based on the Avans brand. The priority for the new owner is to develop the chain and expand all over the country. In plans, there is also a thorough revision of the offer of shops and its consequent even better adaptation to the expectations of the customers, with an emphasis on the development of online sales.

We do believe that the market of multimedia, electronics and household appliances is going to develop dynamically in the years to come, particularly in the field of sales channels and customer preferences – and the Avans chain is a company with a great brand and a huge potential for development,” said Arkadiusz Tomala, President of the Management Board at Open Media Sp. z o.o.
