McKinlay Development to build a retail park in Sochaczew

Multishop Sochaczew.

Multishop Sochaczew retail park, with an area of 21,000 sqm will be the largest shopping complex in the region. The park will house, among others, a Tesco hypermarket with an area of 6,500 sqm, out of which 4,000 sqm is the area of the shopping premises. At present, the construction of OBI is getting to completion and the selection of the general contractor for a part of the hypermarket and retail park is underway.

The scheduled opening of the first stage of the scheme – the DIY and gardening market OBI is Q2 2012, whereas the completion of the entire project is scheduled for the beginning of 2012. Another important element of works related to the Multishop project is the reconstruction of an around 1-km long fragment of trunk route no. 2 including the reconstruction of intersection with the entry to Sochaczew's ringroad to a modern 2-lane roundabout. The construction works at the reconstruction have already started and their completion is scheduled for the end of May this year.

The project in Sochaczew is the first of 10 planned schemes by McKinlay Development, which the company wants to carry out within the nearest 5 years. Currently, the company is preparing itself to start another investment – in Żywiec. The retail park there will have an area of 40,000 sqm.
